Project Hope and Renewal

Thank you all for your support and participation in this event (May 13, 2007)!

HOPE starts with the planting of the blueberry seedling.

Faith comes with knowing that the seed will grow and become fruitful.
As the Phoenix is reborn from the fire, so will a new tree be born from the seed of the tree that will be destroyed. This is the mission of the Formosa blueberry farm ... to give Hope of Rebirth for the seedlings of the trees that have provided much fruit for the people who have come to the farm. From a certain death, hope springs anew.

We have spent over 30 years working on our blueberry farm, tending it, sowing, getting it certified as organic so that we could provide the very best fruit for our customers. Sadly, because of the Golden Ears Bridge Project, the farm is fated to be ruined by the expressway. A highway will dissect a beautiful, healthy, fruitful farm.

We are reluctant to let go of our nature-friendly environment, a sustainable healthy natural landscape and ecosystem. We are afraid of the future of "progress" as it destroys so much that has take so long to build up. Support and concern from all the individuals and groups, that are aware of this farm, have inspired us to launch Formosa Nursery's PROJECT HOPE AND RENEWAL.

We are inviting you to join our Adopt BC BLUEBERRIES plant sale event on May 13th, Mother's Day, and support us and the berries by purchasing a blueberry seedling so that we can rebuild our farm and begin a new life so that we can still be able to provide quality organic berries for all who want the best in organic food. Good bodies deserve it!

The purpose of PROJECT HOPE AND RENEWAL is to bring new hope through education and taking care of the Earth so that we will not destroy ourselves with pesticides and pollution, but that we will rebuild with faith, fortitude and support from you, our friends.

We love and respect earth and nature and we believe that organic plants maintain and sustain our good health.

With help from volunteers from various organizations from BC and beyond, we are taking cuttings from the plants in the hope that these healthy blueberry cuttings will go to families so that the plant will live on and families can grow and have goodness in their own backyards.

PROJECT HOPE AND RENEWAL is inviting you to join with us and your families and friends to help us give new meaning to be fruitful and multiply. By buying a seedling or two you will be able to have your own blueberry bush(es). You will have quality fruit and you will have been able to give new life to plants that will soon be destroyed by the highway. Your support and caring will also help motivate and encourage us to start our new life with determination to make this the best blueberry farm ever!
